"Christmas Eve"

Lists have been checked and
presents decoratively wrapped.
Stockings are hung by the mantle with care.
Colored lights have been tucked among the boxwood and
the last of the decorations are added to the tree.
Sweet smells from the kitchen are hard to resist.
The excitement of Christmas Eve is in the air,
as the children wait with anticipation
for the magic to unfold.
